History of Metro Christian Academy
Metro Christian Academy was founded in 1983 by a group of parents and educators who had a desire and a direction to create a non-denominational school focused on Christian values. This new school would prepare, educate, and train-up students physically, academically, and spiritually in a Christian environment with Christian teachers.
Metro opened with 490 students from Kindergarten through the 12th grades and today educates over 1000 P-3 through twelfth grade students in the former Charles Mason High School building. Since the inception of Metro Christian Academy, the building and grounds have transformed to accommodate the needs of a college preparatory school.

The Future
Insuring financial stability for Metro Christian Academy is an ongoing priority for the Board of Trustees and school administrators. For more than 25 years Metro Christian has been blessed with the generous support of families and patrons within the Tulsa community. As a result of the many gifts throughout the years, MCA has become one of the top college preparatory schools in the area and the leader in college preparatory, interdenominational Christian education in the state.
To support the growth and demand for academically-focused Christian education, Metro launched the "Our Time” capital campaign in 2007 with a goal of raising $6,750,000. Having received over $5,000,000 in gifts and pledges, the campaign has funded maintenance and security upgrades across the campus as well as the construction of a track field complex. When the campaign is completed, the school will have added new classrooms, a new lunchroom and a new elementary/middle school gym and $500,000 to the endowment.
Metro’s continued success depends on the support of those that embrace the mission and values we strive to instill through an academically challenging, Christ-based education – developing strong Christian men and women who will be the future leaders, employees, parents and citizens of our future.
