Metro Friends Of The Arts
Metro Friends of the Arts (MFOTA) is a parent-driven support organization was formed in 2006/2007 to support the Metro Christian Academy Fine Arts Department to aid in supporting and enhancing Metro's rapidly growing Fine Arts Department. The progress made in 5 years has been phenomenal!
If your student participates in any area of the arts (including Art, Band, Drama, Praise & Worship, or Vocal Music), now is the time to become a part of your student's Fine Arts experience! We hope you will join us in the job of actively particpiating in your student's experience. MFOTA will be working directly with the Fine Arts Department faculty members and administration to promote and enhance this fantastic department! Many wonderful Fine Arts events are planned each year -- take a look at the complete Fine Arts Department calendar. All Fine Arts events are video recorded by the Drama Department video production team in collaboration with MFOTA, with DVD sales proceeds supporting Fine Arts.
Member Meetings are held quarterly in the MCA cafeteria. Watch for dates, and be sure to attend to find out how you can get involved!
MFOTA Membership Information
For a minimum $25 donation, you may become a member of MFOTA by completing a sign-up form and submitting with your check payable to MFOTA provided to Ronda Harper, MCA Fine Arts Director or to an MFOTA officer or representative at any MFOTA attended event.
Membership benefits include:- Advance notice of MCA Fine Arts Events and scheduling changes
- Reminder e-mails of all upcoming Fine Arts Events
- Member meeting notices and voting rights
- Your child’s contribution toward End of the Year Appreciation Gift for all Fine Arts Teachers
- Early admission to selected MCA Fine Arts Events
How MFOTA Donations are used:
- Fine Arts event supplies, including storage containers, display easels, concession supplies, coolers, flowers and related supplies, decorations and signage supplies, printing/postage
- Auditorium foyer décor (all donated by Metro Friends of the Arts)
- Acquisition of over $15,000 in video production and duplication equipment
- Appreciation flowers/gifts for Fine Arts teachers during fine arts events
- Year End Award Events or recognition items for Fine-Arts students (age-appropriate)
- Annual End of the Year Appreciation Gift for all Fine Arts Teachers
