The purpose of the Metro Christian Academy (MCA) leadership program is to help students discover what it looks like to be a Christian leader in the twenty-first century. Students enrolled in the leadership development program learn and practice effective communication skills, collaboration, team building, time management, organizational, decision-making, problem solving, as well as vision and goal setting.
MCA leadership curriculum emphasizes the importance of understanding and cultivating trust, respect, responsibility, honesty, integrity, delegation, creativity, commitment, open-mindedness, flexibility, and strong Christian character. Specific topics covered include: Biblical leadership, leadership styles, servant leadership, spiritual gifts, personality assessments, ethics, healthy relationships, conflict resolution, and much more.
As part of the program requirements, students plan, organize, execute, and evaluate a multitude of events and service projects for the school and surrounding community. These leadership experiences give students opportunities to learn more about themselves, explore who they are in Christ, realize their leadership potential, and better understand the responsibilities of being an effective leader. It is our hope that MCA Christian student leaders will continually develop their own leadership skills, while serving and inspiring greatness in others.
