From the moment new families enroll at Metro Christian Academy, our goal is to help students and parents acclimate and connect with others. MCA staff and PTF volunteers work hard to make sure new families are “in the know” and included in school activities from day one!
For those who enroll over the summer, there are new family gatherings for each grade level before school begins. These events help new families get questions answered and form friendships so everyone sees a familiar face on the first day of school. MCA and PTF also co-host a Back to School new family event in August for all new families to come and enjoy a fun evening on the front lawn. Evening activities include various games such as “nine square in the air”, a bounce house for little ones, Josh’s Sno Cones, and fellowship.
When enrollment occurs throughout the school year, new families are contacted and included right away. There is always something going on and a number of ways for students and parents to plug in. PTF hosts meetings throughout the year, elementary parents have home room activities and weekly chapel, secondary families have regular grade-level parent meetings, chapel, and several social events throughout the year.
Once enrolled, families have access to internal communication via the MCA parent and student portals. (Logins and passwords are established as the final step in the enrollment process.) These portals contain valuable information, including up-to-the-minute student academic data, homework assignments and due dates, upcoming events, weekly newsletters, and more.
From applicant to new family, we strive to make the process informative, easy, and enjoyable. If you haven’t yet visited Metro Christian Academy, we invite you to schedule a tour or attend an Open House. We would love to share more about our vibrant, life-giving educational community.
